Letters From Lithuania
LETTERS FROM LITHUANIA is a site-specific work developed in association with Mortal Coil Performance Society of Vancouver. LETTERS was conceived and developed by Bessie Wapp and written by Nicola Harwood. The show was produced with a cast and crew of over 20 artists - actors, musicians, puppeteers, stilt artists, designers, technicians and even a train engineer.
Following the story of a Lithuanian Jewish family torn apart by war, the audience have the opportunity to experience two different plays, based upon which character they follow. Accompanied by live music, the show took place in multiple sites in Stanley Park in Vancouver in August 2008 and was directed by Peter Hall and Joanna Garfinkle.
LETTERS FROM LITHUANIA was nominated for two Jessie Awards - for best original script and for most innovative concept.
